The Quiet of Spring
May 16th, 2012 9:37 AM

Everything begins to quiet down around this time of year in the sunshine state as "Snow Birds" travel back up north and the official vacation season has not yet begun.  We notice less traffic, less wait times in restaurants, and less guests at the theme parks.   But May is a great time to enjoy the Orlando area.

The weather has not yet become unbearable with heat and the rainy season, along with the threat of tropical storms has not yet begun.  Disney is finishing with its annual "Flower and Garden Festival" but will resume the summer season with the "Sounds Like Summer Concert Series" which begins in early June.  With many families concentrating on graduations, weddings or simply the end of a school year, May is the perfect month to enjoy the local attractions without long lines and endless waits.

Beaches are also less crowded this time of year and the water is already heating up to comfortable temperatures.  The Gulf of Mexico tends to warm up quicker than the Atlantic ocean, but either coast provides many beautiful beaches to explore.  From Bed & Breakfasts to elegant suites, there is a large variety of accommodations and prices available this time of year.

Florida is beautiful all year long, but the month of May brings exceptional beauty with new blossoms, new entertainment and new adventures.  Enjoy the beauty and quiet of spring!
