The Artist Within
February 18th, 2014 4:30 PM

Most of us feel uncomfortable thinking of ourselves as artists, but we are.  We think artists write novels, paint pictures, choreograph ballets, or act on Broadway.  But each of us is an artist:  someone with good listening skills who accesses their creative energy to experience something new.

With every choice, every day, we are creating our own work of art, sometimes something only we can do.  We create a work of art by making big and little choices between playing it safe and risking.  Is there something you would like to do that is new and different?  Personally, I want to shoot a handgun at a target range; take a zip line through a forrest, try new ethnic foods, listen to different kinds of music, travel to places I have never been, ride somthing I have always feared . . . . . Everyone has something they have not done or risked to enjoy.

Each time we experience the new, we become receptive to inspiration.  Each time we try something different, we create our own art.  Even changing a hair style, a perfume, or a way of dress can create a new you.

With spring just around the corner, begin to trust your instincts and respect your creative urges.  Plan to create a work of art through new experiences or subtle changes.   You will discover that your life is all it was meant to be:  an exciting journey filled with adventure!
