In this crazy busy technological world of iphones, ipads and computers there can be no easy escapes to quiet and solitude.  Just about everyone suffers from some kind of stress at some point in their lives.  Listed below are some proven remedies for coping:

  • Cultivate gratitude
  • Carve out an hour a day for solitude
  • Don't overschedule
  • Never make a promise you cannot keep
  • Create quiet surroundings both at home and at work
  • Always carry something interesting to read
  • Breathe - deeply and often
  • Eat only when hungry
  • Laugh more often
  • Don't answer the telephone or check e-mails during dinner
  • Stop trying to please everyone
  • Stay away from negative people
  • Nurture friendships
  • Aproach problems as challenges
  • Set achievable goals
  • Create boundaries
  • Don't worry; be happy
  • Cherish your dreams
  • Express love every day

We certainly can't avoid stress on any given day.  But it is how we react to it that will dictate the quality of our lives and the length of time we have to enjoy it.
