September Stillness
September 4th, 2013 10:48 AM

School has resumed, snow birds are scarce, traffic is less and there is a stillness in the air as summer winds to an end and the fall season begins.

This is a great time of year to be on vacation in Central Florida.   The restaurants are much quieter and offer faster service.  The beaches, only one hour away, are more open, quiet and relaxing.  The traffic to get to the beaches is much less congested. Even the theme parks have smaller lines and reduced waiting time for the most popular attractions.  Summer weather is still here, but the crowds are not.

While many cannot take September vacations due to school, college and other fall events, those who can will have the advantage of enjoying a more quiet, relaxed holiday.  There are many exciting Septemer events planned in this area, such as EPCOT's Food & Wine Festival, which begins on September 27th.

The first "Eat to the Beat Concert" will feature Mickey Thomas of Starship. There are concerts nightly, with three different show times, and performers changing every two to three nights.  Some of this years concert performers include: Air Supply, Sister Hazel, Go-Go's, Wilson Phillips, The Pointer Sisters, Night Ranger, Boyz II Men, Survivor, and MORE!

Each year, there are added countries or new features to ensure that visitors return.  This year, Scotland is a new international food booth and all countries with samplings of their heritage cuisines will be cooking until mid-November around World Showcase.

There is some stillness here  in September, but with football games, new TV series, and Disney World's fall activities on the horizon, the stillness will not last very long!
