SEPTEMBER'S SONG

Barbara's Blog:

September marks a month of change, as school begins again, football season arrives and summer gives way to autumn colors and activities.  This month brings more quiet to the area while in a transition from summer vacations to the busy holiday season.

For this reason, September is a great time to visit.  Gone are long lines at local attractions, traffic has not yet picked up for the winter season, and the weather is still hot enough to enjoy the beaches and water parks.  Disney's Magic Kingdom is gearing up for their spirited season of Halloween, with a new "wicked" castle stage show, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and a park beautifully decorate with orange, red and yellow bunting, leaves and pumpkins.

EPCOT begins their annual Food & Wine Festival on September 25th with a list of legendary artists for the "Eat to the Beat" concert series.  This year some of the new shows will be performed by Tiffany, Everclear, Maxi Priest, and Chaka Khan.  Other returning favorites are Starship, Wilson Phillips, The Pointer Sisters, Air Supply, Boyz II Men, and many more!  This Festival will run until mid-November.

Even the renovated "Disney Springs" (Downtown Disney) has a flurry of activities.  There are new restaurants, shops, pedestrian bridges and a "smart" garage that have changed the look and added to the excitement.  Nightly entertainment can be found from the East to the West side, with plenty to occupy an entire day and no admission charge.  Construction is still underway in some areas and additional surprises are in store for early 2016.

Cooler weather is just around the corner and once the pesky September "love bugs" are gone, the rest of this year will be bristling with excitement in anticipation of all the upcoming holidays.  This is our favorite time of year, living so close to Disney, and for those who can visit now, much fun awaits!
