RETIREMENT NEAR DISNEY
September 5th, 2017 10:22 AM

Barbara’s Blog:

Florida is a haven for retirees, as the pace is a little different, known as the “Florida lifestyle.”  But if one makes a decision to live near Walt Disney World upon retirement, there is no reason to be bored and plenty of reasons to enjoy it.

  • Plenty of Part Time Jobs.   If you are looking for a part time job after retirement, there is plenty of opportunity at Disney World.  Some of the “magic” is good benefits and complimentary tickets for family and friends.

  • No State Income Tax.  Enough revenue is made in the state through hotels, restaurants, and merchandise in the “tourist capital of the world” that Florida does not have a state income tax.

  • Make New Friends.  Since Florida is a popular place to retire, there are many retirement communities with an abundance of active “retirees” and great opportunities to meet people and make great friends.

  • More Visitors.  When living close to Disney World, both family and friends will want to visit more than ever before, especially around the holidays when no one does Christmas like Disney!

  • Florida Resident Discounts.  Most of the area attractions offer some type of discount for those who can prove that they call Florida home.  Savings can be substantial, and there is always something to do!

  • Travel the World.  At Disney World you can “travel the world” and not even need a passport!  You can try international dishes, shop for cultural items, and even talk to Cast Members from different countries, while you explore the World Showcase countries.

  • Signature Dining.  If you love delicious food and creative cocktails, there is plenty to enjoy both at Walt Disney World and the surrounding areas.  Not only the theme parks, but Disney Springs and Boardwalk have exceptional dining options with fantastic atmosphere.

  • Spring and Fall.  In the spring, the entire state comes alive with color and in the fall there is still plenty of color from flowers that do well in the warm autumn.  But there are no leaves to rake!

  • Winter.  Throw away the snow shovels, heavy coats, gloves, boots and scarves!  If you want to see snow, Celebration has “snowing nightly” during the Christmas season, as well as Disney World and Disney Springs.

There are so many reasons to retire and live near Disney World, where magic is real, every story has a happy ending and even retirees never “grow up.”  Let us help you find that “magical” home!
