Lovin' Legoland
October 17th, 2012 12:17 PM

As Legoland Florida celebrates its first anniversary this week, we decided to spend a day there to experience first hand what has contributed to their  huge success. We were not sure that two adults could be fully entertained at such a park, but we were pleasantly surprised!  There are so many things to see and do there, it doesn't matter how old you are!

Upon entering Legoland, you have many choices of paths that take you to various attractions.  "Fun Town" has a double deck Merry-go-round, Island in the Sky, a theatre with several shows, lego shops and nice food venues.  You can enjoy "Miniland" where you will marvel at the miniature buildings and people, such as Kennedy Space Center, St. Augustine, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Las Vegas, and New York City.  The Imagination Zone allows your creativity to take over using legos of all sizes.  There is a "Driving School,"  "Flying School" and a "Boating School" with rides for children as well as adults.  A big wooden "Coastersaurus" is in the midst of dinosaurs and a "Lost Kingdom Adventure" is a fun ride using lazer guns to hit targets and outscore your friends (or husband).  There is even a "Lego Kingdom" castle with a Dragon roller coaster to give more thrills.  You can see  live shows, such as the water ski show, and a large part of Cypress Gardens still exists for a stroll through a vast collection of native plants and the 80-year-old Banyan tree.  There is even a water park attraction and already work is being done on future expansion within Legoland park to include more rides, games and shopping.

Definitely, there is enough at Legoland Florida to fill a day with fun, food, and fantasy.  With 50+ rides and attractions,  it is a very different experience from the other area theme parks.  Be sure to give this one a visit and be prepared to come away smiling.  It will make your day!

THERE ARE 2 MILLION 400 THOUSAND LEGO BLOCKS THAT MAKE UP THIS EINSTEIN DISPLAYED IN FRONT OF THE IMAGINATION ZONE.
