Fall Fun in Florida
September 27th, 2011 12:24 PM

Florida may not have the colored leaves falling or the crispness in the air come October, but there is a refreshing coolness in our temperatures and a lot of fun to be had.

Not only do you have a choice of Universal's Halloween Horror Nights and Disney's "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party" but there is a lot to enjoy around Central Florida.  You can find the usual pumpkin patches, some hayride wagons, and many decorated communities.  You can enjoy the "falling leaves" in Downtown Celebration with all of their fall festivities.  You can stroll along Disney's Boardwalk or Downtown Disney and the Market Place to delight in the fall transformation that only Disney can do.

This year for the first time, LegoLand Park (formerly Cypress Gardens)  will open its doors to the public on October 15th, in time to celebrate the fall season.  This will bring more tourists into the Winter Haven and Lake Wales area, who can also stop at Bok Tower Gardens to delight in the autumn flowers.

An all time favorite of local residents is the "International Food and Wine Festival" held at Disney's EPCOT Park, beginning Sept. 30th and ending on November 13th.  Here you can taste your way around the world, with samplings of food and wine from many different countries.  In addition, there is a nightly concert held at the America Gardens Theatre at World Showcase and each year this great entertainment includes various groups from the music of soul, R&B, jazz or rock.   This year, some of the artists will be Taylor Dayne, Jon Secada, Billy Ocean, Starship with Mickey Thomas, Boyz II Men, Sister Hazel, The Pointer Sisters, Air Supply, and several others.   Admission to the park is needed to see any of the concerts, but included in a Florida Annual Pass.

Fall is a fun time here in Central Florida with plenty of pumpkins, apple cider and things to do!

THERE WILL NOT BE A BLOG POST NEXT WEEK, AS I WILL BE TOURING THE NEW ENGLAND STATES ENJOYING THE FALL FOLIAGE UP NORTH BEFORE I RETURN HOME TO ENJOY ALL THAT CENTRAL FLORIDA HAS TO OFFER!
