Choosing To Blossom
April 17th, 2014 1:25 PM

Spring flowers are everywhere and so is the pollen, reminding us of all the blossoms bursting forth this month.   Growth is abundant everywhere and is necessary, both in nature and with people.

How much time, creative energy, and emotion do we expend resisting change because we assume growth must always be painful?  Much personal growth is uncomfortable, especially learning to set boundaries in relationships.  My personal growth problem is learning to say, "no."  When I don't, I sometimes find myself exhausted, resentful, and overwhelmed because I have taken on too much.  It is difficult to say "sorry, I can't" when everybody else assumes you can.  But I am finding it is very difficult  to admit my  limitations.  It is a growth experience when "remaining tight in the bud" is more painful than blossoming.

As gardening is a wonderful way to gently explore some growth issues with Mother Nature, so we can take one perfect rosebud, place it on a desk or table, and watch it slowly open and grow.  Growth is a process and takes nurturing and time.   Mother Nature is a patient mentor.  We can learn much from Her and the blossoms that surround us.

May you be surrounded by the beauty of change and growth this Easter Season.   We wish you a very Blessed and Happy Easter!
