Barbara’s Blog:

I had a friend from up north say to me the other day, “You are so lucky to live in such an enchanted place, surrounded by Christmas beauty.”  Yes, we are.  And anyone who lives close to Disney World knows of the holiday extravaganza here.

All of the theme parks are decked out in their Christmas splendor, each one creating a display full of excitement and wonder for any age.  But it doesn’t take a theme park ticket or lots of money to enjoy the Christmas beauty surrounding us.

One can visit the many decorated Disney Resorts by car, boat or monorail, and view the gorgeous decorations and unique displays each one has.  From gingerbread houses to train and village sets, there is so much to see and enjoy, including entertainment and light refreshments.  Even Disney’s campground at Ft. Wilderness is full of holiday cheer and thrilling light displays, with a charming sleigh ride at night that will take you through the most amazing neighborhoods.

A visit to Disney Springs is never a disappointment, especially at Christmas time.  The beauty of the decorations and the endless dinner and snack choices will fill the day, with various entertainment throughout both the east and west sides at night. If you choose to ride the “balloon” you will tower high enough to view not only Disney Springs lights but some of the other parks too, as well as fireworks.

Disney’s Boardwalk offers boat rides, a view of fireworks, fantastic decorations, and a chance to stroll around the lake at your leisure to take everything in.

Even a trip to Celebration will be a thrill, not only for viewing the downtown decorations and “nightly snow” but the neighborhoods are spectacular and a drive through many of the streets will “wow” you.

Yes, we are so very lucky to live here.  Take advantage of all that is available this Christmas season and enjoy every minute!
